Meet Angela Lair, a certified credit counselor with Transformance in Dallas. The nonprofit offers budget counseling, debt management plans, student loan counseling and more.
In 2015, Transformance served 17,000 clients with an average of $23,000 in debt, including credit card debt.
“Anybody can fall into debt,” Lair says. “It’s a vicious cycle.”
“They walk out with a smile on their face, they give me a hug and have those two words: Thank you. That’s what makes my job rewarding.”
