For parents LaToya Thomas and Jasmin Pierson, their school, Mitchell Boulevard Elementary, failed them when officials neglected to notify them that their daughter was being bullied.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Mitchell Boulevard has been on the state&#8217;s \u201c<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Accountability rating given to a district or campus that doesn't meet one or more performance requirements. It's the lowest rating label under the state's accountability system.\">Improvement Required<\/span>\u201d list for three consecutive years. To turn the school around, the Fort Worth school district this year designated Mitchell Boulevard as a &#8220;<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Fort Worth ISD is spending $4.5 million, including a $1 million contribution from the Richard Rainwater Charitable Foundation, to retool its failing schools.\">leadership academy<\/span>,&#8221; hiring new administrators.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas says their daughter has a better teacher this year and a smaller classroom.
